Greatest Accomplishment: Setting a PR at the Palmerton Sprint in 2016
Best OCR Memory: Running the kids race with my two children. Nothing is better than seeing them want to be a part of the Spartan Racing community.
How did you get interested in OCR: Totally by accident! My husband and I had gotten into shape and wanted to do a 5k, so I signed us up for the Biggest Loser 5k that was being held at Blue Mountain (10 minutes from our house). Little did I know that they were partnered with Spartan Race that year. We were thrown into the obstacles and instantly got addicted to OCR!
Least Favorite Obstacle: Multi Rig
What are you looking forward to the most: Traveling with my family – I love that we can combine my love of traveling to new places with Spartan Races. We are trying new locations this year and I can’t wait. I’m also participating in my first race on my own (without my husband who typically runs with me). I’m nervous and excited to see what we can both accomplish!
Favorite Pro Athlete and why: Rose Wetzel – she is just an amazing athlete that exudes confidence, yet is so compassionate toward others. She is such a big part of the community and wants everyone to feel like what they do is important.
A little about yourself: I’m a wife and mother to three littles, who are my whole world. They are what push me everyday to be a better version of myself. And I love the influence Spartan Racing has had on our family. It has truly brought us together in the best possible way. We train as a family whenever we can, and the kids truly are influenced by the example we set for them daily.
When I’m not at home with them, I work full-time as a content marketing specialist for an education company. I love reading, writing, Grey’s Anatomy, and throw in an occasional triathlon when I have some time.
